Building National Capacity on the DFA Platform in Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone
2019

Project Description

In collaboration with UNICEF Sierra Leone and Statistics Sierra Leone (SSL), CSF supported the enhancement of Sierra Leone’s national data dissemination capacity through the Data For All (DFA) platform.

Having used DFA since 2017, SSL sought to independently manage and expand the system to better serve national stakeholders. CSF provided technical assistance and capacity development, both remotely and in-country, enabling local focal points to build interactive dashboards using the DFA Dashboard Builder. These dashboards visualize national data on demography, health, education, employment, and water and sanitation, empowering decision-makers with evidence-based insights.

Through targeted capacity-building missions, SSL successfully migrated Sierra Leone Info to national servers, strengthening local ownership and ensuring long-term sustainability of the platform. This initiative positions Sierra Leone to leverage real-time data for planning, monitoring, and advancing national development goals.
