CME Info: Global Portal for Child Mortality Estimates
Project Description
Since 2011, CSF has been a long-term technical partner to UNICEF and the UN Inter-agency Group for Child Mortality Estimation (UN IGME) in developing and maintaining CME Info — a global online platform dedicated to tracking progress on reducing child mortality.
CME Info compiles and presents the latest global, regional, and country-level estimates of child mortality, combining data from household surveys, national statistics, and UN IGME’s annual estimation process. The portal provides interactive dashboards that visualize trends, comparisons, and data quality assessments, helping governments, researchers, and development partners make evidence-based decisions.
Originally designed and launched by CSF as the first-ever global portal on child mortality estimates, CME Info continues to evolve with new data releases, methodological updates, and user-centered visualization features. CSF supports UNICEF by managing annual data updates, integrating new national and survey datasets, and enhancing the platform’s accessibility and analytical capabilities.
This partnership contributes directly to SDG 3.2 — ending preventable deaths of newborns and children under five.
