Project Description

Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) is a global multi-stakeholder partnership that brings together governments, donors, civil society, and development partners to accelerate progress toward universal access to clean water and adequate sanitation.

With more than 90 committed partners, SWA fosters high-level political commitment, promotes mutual accountability, and helps countries use resources more effectively.
Led by developing country governments, the partnership emphasizes national ownership, evidence-based planning, and inclusive collaboration, ensuring that every person has access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

Results
  • Mobilized over 90 global partners working collaboratively to advance universal WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) access.
  • Strengthened national leadership by empowering governments to design and implement their own water and sanitation strategies.
  • Enhanced coordination among donors and development partners, ensuring efficient use of funds and minimizing duplication of efforts.
  • Improved accountability mechanisms through civil society engagement and transparent monitoring of commitments.
  • Supported global advocacy and policy alignment for SDG 6 — ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
