Advancing Health Data Management through OpenEMIS

Global
2021

Project Description

In response to the educational and public health challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, CSF in collaboration with the UNESCO Global Education Coalition, developed the OpenEMIS Health and Vaccination Module to support governments in managing vaccination and health testing data across schools.

This new module was designed as an independent component within OpenEMIS Core, enabling the collection, processing, and management of vaccination and health test records for students and staff. The solution addresses the need for rapid, reliable, and disaggregated data to inform decisions on safe school reopening and health policy.

Beyond COVID-19, the Health and Vaccination Module provides countries with a long-term, flexible solution to manage any type of vaccination or health data within the education system. By integrating vaccine readiness features and real-time analytics, CSF is supporting ministries of education and health to strengthen resilience, coordination, and preparedness for future health emergencies.
