Community Systems Foundation (CSF) is pleased to announce the publication of a new case study highlighting how OpenEMIS supports governments to strengthen early childhood development and education (ECDE) systems through better data.
Early childhood—from birth to age eight—is a critical period for cognitive, social, and emotional development. Yet in many countries, fragmented or incomplete data systems limit the ability of governments to track progress, identify vulnerable children, and plan effective interventions.
The new case study explores how OpenEMIS addresses these challenges by enabling integrated, child-level data systems that follow learners from early childhood through their education journey. By establishing unique learner identifiers and capturing holistic information—including health, nutrition, and developmental milestones—OpenEMIS supports more informed decision-making and improved service delivery.
Through real-time dashboards, reporting tools, and interoperable systems, OpenEMIS helps governments align with global commitments such as Sustainable Development Goal 4.2, while strengthening national capacity for planning, monitoring, and resource allocation.
This publication builds on the OpenEMIS Initiative’s long-standing commitment to providing open-source, government-owned digital public goods that support education system strengthening worldwide.
